Last month Dr. Salah Sultan, a member of Yusuf al-Qaradawi's International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) and the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, declared on al-Jazeera that the IUMS would restore the fatwa they issued in 1994, which stated that "every Zionist who enters Egypt--tourist or not--should be killed."
Translating Jihad: ‫Muslim Brotherhood Leader: "Every Israeli who enters Egypt--tourist or not--should be killed"

Religion of peace eh? Who wants to still claim that the MB is secular and is not going to take over Egypt and start a war with Israel?

And Fred Phelps says that God hates **** and God will continue to kill American soldiers until the United States cleans itself up to Fred's standards.

Isn't it amazing how a decentralized religion doesn't have any control over the crap spouted by its supposed adherents?

Being "a member of Yusuf al-Qaradawi's International Union of Muslim Scholars", we can't be surprised. Al-Qaradawi is one of the most reputed Jew-hating (I'm not even saying anti-Zionist, because he usually talks about Judaism and the Jewish people) scholars in the Muslim world.

We all know or imagine how low the intellectual standard can get for many people, so that some fanatics can be thought of as reputed, quotable and reasonable scholars...

That's right. Many, many people in Egypt support these statements.

This hater is a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is likely to control the next government. He is also a leading Islamic scholar. As such he represents a large body of public opinion.

There's hell to come. Welcome to the Arab Spring.

I know. Every single time he gets quoted or is mentioned by some prominent Muslim intellectual or politician it gets scarier and scarier.

But I'm more worried with more and more European intellectuals siding with this sort of people or simply keeping quiet about it.

I'm just waiting for US corporations to start closing up shop there and pull out. Just wait for all the tourism to drop to near zero. It will just become another ME country thats going to have to survive on UN handouts.

As to Dr. Salah Sultan, He's a cleric that was based in Ohio for numerous years and the US gov't did nothing. He's not representative of Egypt, but he's representative of HAMAS. So he's actually speaking for them rather than Egyptians.
