US health insurance costs rise
Annual family premiums growing at three times the rate of 2010, and outpacing wage increases, survey finds

The cost of health insurance continues to climb for US companies and workers, with annual family premiums this year growing at a pace triple that of 2010 and outpacing wage increases, according to a survey.

As the United States continues to grapple with a stubbornly weak economy, family premiums in employer-sponsored health plans jumped 9% this year and single premiums rose 8%, compared with 2010's 3% and 5%, the Kaiser Family Foundation's annual study, published on Tuesday, found.

"We're probably on a more modest side … but even with a 5% increase in a premium (that our workers saw) this year, they didn't get a 5% raise,''

The cost of health insurance has surged in the US this year, according to a survey of employers, dealing a blow to claims by the Obama administration that healthcare legislation introduced last year would curb costs.
Insurance premiums for family health benefits in 2011 jumped 9 per cent

The headline says rates are going up 9 percent. My rates haven't gone up less than 10 percent the last 8 years.

Shouldn't I be thanking Obama?

Link dont work im asked to join ** for free *** or some crap like that before it will open
that link is like OBAMA care says its free

nothin is free preiod never has been never will

of course costs will go up the insurance companies are in bisiness to make a profit *same as you and i if we own a bisiness if they are forced to insure somebody who is a bad risk the cost have to be covered by the other premium payers

no one size fits all
why should a elderly person be forced to buy insurance taht covers pregnancy
likewise why should a young healthy person be forced to buy insurance that covers altimers (sp )
why should a non smoker be asked to pay preniums for lung cancer

health insurance should be like auto insurace
to each his/ her needs

in auto insurance you have
high premiums for
young inexperianced drivers
those with most claims
those who are at high risk
etc etc

you have lower premiums for
safe drivers
low milege drivers
those that choice higher deductables
etc etc
if you did health insurance like that the premuims for most of us would be less expensive
the main problem as i see it with obama care is like all his other bull**** govt programes ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL

im as a libertarian for freedom of choice buy the insurance you need as and when you need it with out govt dictates as to what you have to buy and from whom .
