A recent secret White House meeting revealed that an estimated 20,000 portable, heat-seeking missiles appear to have vanished from an Army warehouse in Libya, ABCNews.com reported.
The new revelations stoke ongoing fears that such weapons, which are light, relatively easy to use and have the capacity to take down a commercial airplane, could end up in the wrong hands as the Libyan war that ousted Muammar Qaddafi winds down.
“Matching up a terrorist with a shoulder-fired missile, that's our worst nightmare,” Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., told ABCNews.com.
I'm personally glad that the left (especially here on CD) went out of their way to make sure everyone knows that Obama deserves all the credit for Libya.
Now that we've assisted a group of people who are sympathetic to terrorist groups that are determined to kill Americans get there hands on 20 THOUSAND surface to air missiles will it become Bush's fault too?
yeah, thanks Obama....as you are on your way out of the WH, you leave the next President (likely a Republican) with the job of having to beef up our security forces once again to deal with increased terrorism. Which will then give reason for crybaby liberals to blame Republicans for increasing the debt.
The world sees Obama's weakness and Obama himself is helping this Radical Islam Arab Spring to become VERY successfull.
Unless you are into terror, beating women and children I don't see this as a good thing.
And having many weapons go missing is not good, but be assured they are going to be used to probably hurt the innocent in the name of the moon god IMO.

If he does not do anything libya then he is attacked by Republicans. If does something he is attacked by Republicans. At the end of the day he is going to be attacked by Republicans, so he should do what he what he thinks is best and not give a crap about the response form Republicans because they will attack him either way.

Mosy likely, the mechanism to safeguard these missles is a remnant of Bush's mismanagement of every aspect of the wars he lied to start. Under Bush, our military became grossly inefficient.
Given that all President Obama has had to contend with, no surprise that this might have happened. However, the very use of these weapons by anyone would immediately identify their location, subjecting them to a targeted strike by this smarter version of our Obama-led military forces. If they did fall into the hands of the opposition, it will be interesting to see them use them against our superior military forces. Such mishaps would ordinarily be a disaster for the Neanderthal-led military under a Republican president.
Also, there is a possibility that these weapons are not lost as Republicans would like them to be. You Pubs continue your desperate wishes that the country blame Preisdent Obama for your detrimental presence.
They'll show up someday in an Israeli hospital or some US military base overseas. Maybe even in the side of an airliner or perhaps in a synagogue.
