Well independents need a choice. This Independent is not impressed with the options thus far.

Marv, hello, 40 percent turnout in 2010 . 61 percent in 2008. Races needed to sway perhaps 2 or 3,000 indys to win a itty bit house seat, try replicating that needing several hundred thousand to win say, Colorado.
I'm no BO fan, but those who bring up '10 are like the Little Leaguer who thinks he can hit Cliff Lee. Until he has FACED Lee and hit him, its an idiotic assumption.
The support for the tea party is waning because the arm that feeds them is dying. As the election draws near, people will begin to see that the GOP has done nothing but hurt this country between 2000-2008, then thereafter obstructed others from correcting the problems Republicans created. When the GOP falters, so does their tea party segment.
2012 is about getting Republicans OUT of office, OUT of Congress, and AWAY from the table. Bigoted ideologies such as that of the GOP/tea party don't belong in the effort to resuscitate this country from their 2000-2008 gaffes.

The TEA party is not a "they" is a national movement for a responsible government.
The original tea party event served as a demonstration by the colonists against taxation without representation, this modern tea party is a movement is against procurement without revenue. All the $14 plus trillion in deficit spending is nothing more then a $14 trillion tax on the citizens of the US, since we will be the ones paying it back with our taxes.
The modern day TEA party is not a thing, it's not a political party, or an organization.... and if you think so, please give us the WEB site for "the TEA Party", and tell us who their leader is, so we can judge them.
The TEA party movement is simply like-minded people expressing their opposition to an irresponsible federal government that is wasting our taxpayer dollars, such as in crony capitalist schemes, and spending our nation into bankruptcy. I can see how the left hates the idea of a responsible government.

If they stood for everything that you mentioned above would'nt they go after republicans as well as democrats? Are you trying to tell me that republicans don't waste money as well? I think that they (koch brothers and such) infiltrated the organization so deeply many of you do not realize that you are fight against your own best interest

Do you think that if government just spent a few MORE trillions (or tens, or hundreds of trillions) on "simulus," suddenly the economy will start to recover?
Maybe, maybe not but if it is spent by us for us it could'nt hurt and the worst thing that can happen is that people will be working and the infrastructure will be updated

Of course it is, since they take quotes from a book that many of them don't understand or flat out misinterped
Please explain any other reasons you have.
1. They are waging war on the wrong people instead attacking their own best interest they should be questioning why would a paper magnate want less federal regulations other than to be able to pollute the air more and paying lower wages.
2. Why would a group of people that recently got elected to provide jobs fight tooth and nail to preserve tax cuts for the rich?
3. Why during the GOP debates when the crowd cheered for the death penalty and jeered a gay serviceman none of the 8 stooges said anything?
4. Their lack of understanding as how the world market functions, were more than eager to let the country go into default in order to prove a point
5. Everyone of them consistly sez something contrary to what mainstream America is about
I proably can come up with some more,but I will wait until their next nonsensical debate
