Who does he think he is supporting those who protestor against our glorious, benevolent Wall St bankers?
I mean if you don't support all these great men that are better than us because they make millions of dollars and are "job creators"...then you're just stupid....LOL
Stupid Hippies! Don't they know their place?
Palin/Joe The Plumber 2012.
Tongue in cheek is good but if you think I think people who have more money than me are better than me, you are very wrong. To the credit of those protesting Wall Street though, I have never stood with an angry mob led by some nutjob and try to prove to the world that I may be wrong.
BTW, some of the old hippies I knew eventually caught up with the world and became very wealthy. Some are likely now comfortably retired from their evil work on Wall Street.
"......The 20 something rioters are parroting him, word for word, and at the end it gets so simple that one has to wonder just how smart those, mostly college kids, really are...."
This is Cornel West ranting at rioters in NYC. It gets so funny at the end that I have to laugh out loud every time I see it. The 20 something rioters are parroting him, word for word, and at the end it gets so simple that one has to wonder just how smart those, mostly college kids, really are. I guess they get plenty of practice doing that in their classes with progressive profs like West.
They surely will not be afraid to say revolution ever again if they think of how simple they looked at this riot.
The cops told them they couldn't use megaphones, so this was their way of 'amplifying' what the speakers had to say down there - so the people far away could hear.
nice try, though.
PS - i also love how last week it was: "pfft. protest? there's, what? 20 people down there?" And now that there's no denying the turnout; it's a "riot".

I don't care if 50,000 "over-educated / under-employed" Borg show up to chant in unison, I still would like to know how they have such free time and how this is going to improve their situation in life.

I guess you think that how the police treated the "protesters" was riotous on their part but that the "protesters" doing their thing was not riotous. I wonder how people can talk about the police brutality and avoid what the "protesters" were doing.
I would guess that you wanted to quote what I said without listening to what happened when West was ranting against anything not progressive (politically speaking). You need to see that video to see just what really was going on at the "protest" meeting. I bet you don't have the guts to watch it because of the source I took it from.
Better to protest Wall Street than play their game on their terms.
Especially when such well know Progressive speakers as Cornel West, Michael the Fat, and others of the Progresive movement are holding forth. These people were pleasing the students and other left leaners at the meeting and getting more and more hatred for big business stirred up.
I have heard it said that this thing was planned and begun by the SEIU, AFL-CIO and some others of that ilk. It has even been said that Bill Avery, Frances Piven, and others of their period of revolution were involved. Aw, surely that can't be true, can it?
