Methinks they have to be very careful as a company on making decisions like that. Probably a good thing for their customers.

At Ft. Knox, KY it is Navy or Ft. Knox FCU and Armed Forces Bank (former employee).

Ft. Belvoir, VA and Langley AFB it's Suntrust.

Ft. Myer, VA it's Armed Forces bank or Pentagon FCU.

If they want I can call my boys at other bases and see what they have there.

BOA will no doubt lose a whole LOT of customers...some very valuable customers. Other banks will no doubt be taking notice.

Just as a point of information, there are currently 397 million Visa debit cards in circulation, and 123 million Mastercard debit cards in circulation. 520 million debit cards total. If 10% of these pay an average usage fee of $4.00, banks will profit to the tune of $2,496,000,000.00 annually. If 50% of debit cards pay the usage fee thats $12,480,000,000.00 annually.

Greed.

And it's the suckers that stick with these banks, whine and cry and pay the fees.

And then they have the nerve to be upset that the banks are making records profits. Geesh.

No one puts a gun to anyone's head and forces them to use a debit card. Where you say greed I say such is the price of laziness and convenience. I've never had a debit card and never intend to get one. If I ever had a credit card that charged a fee I'd cut it up. I suggest those who don't want to pay for their use of debit cards do same.

Newsflash: Bank customers with high deposit levels do not get charged fees for most bank services that those who carry low deposit balances get charged.
