The kid is a nutcase by all indications. He thinks he's something he isnt. If his guardians arent going to actually help him function normally then he might as well go ahead and mutilate his mind (and body for that matter) with hormones. If he's already so disturbed that he thinks he's something he's not, he surely would never be able to keep a job and be a productive member of society anyway.
Thats like "helping"/enabling an anorexic person by taking them to weight watchers so they can continue to waste away and fueling their skewed perception of themselves.

Further, 6 states recognize same sex marriage in the US with another 15 recognizing some form of civil union for gays.
However, in light of two married lesbians deciding that it is a good idea to give a prepubescent boy hormone injections, maybe the states that don't allow it are on to something.
And yet....they aren't giving him hormone injections.
They are giving him subcutaneus hormone blockers to delay puberty until he is old enough to decide for himself. On the advice from specialists in this field.

How do you know that? Two parents who are both female could have influenced his psychological disposition to want to chang his sex. Such bias from the parents would have not been good for the child or the parents to make such a choice.
Because there is no evidence to support that idea and plenty of evidence that opposes it.
The fetal brain develops during the intrauterine period in the male direction through a direct action of testosterone on the developing nerve cells, or in the female direction through the absence of this hormone surge. In this way, our gender identity (the conviction of belonging to the male or female gender) and sexual orientation are programmed or organized into our brain structures when we are still in the womb.
However, since sexual differentiation of the genitals takes place in the first two months of pregnancy and sexual differentiation of the brain starts in the second half of pregnancy, these two processes can be influenced independently, which may result in extreme cases in trans-sexuality. This also means that in the event of ambiguous sex at birth, the degree of masculinization of the genitals may not reflect the degree of masculinization of the brain.
There is no indication that social environment after birth has an effect on gender identity or sexual orientation.
Some of the stuff this child has said and done indicates there is a real problem. I'm not there and don't see him so I don't have any insight, but his Dr's and therapist might. And apparently his older brothers are ok being boys so this isn't a "lesbian mom" thing. Whatever the case, I wouldn't put my kids life at risk to make a point about "people born with a penis are a boy...period". I'd do what I could to make sure they could live and be comfortable in their skin.
