I really dont think that allowing 2% of the population to marry is going to ruin the institution for the other 98%.
And this repeal of "dont ask" still wont affect the primary front line fighting forces such like rangers & special forces, as gays among those groups will naturally remain miniscule at best.

I find it amusing how the numbers change for the sake of convenience. 1-2% jumps to 5-10% when it fits the argument.

Almost every other 1st world nation has assimilated gays into both their military and society, and not only did those nations not collapse, they are the highest quality of living and most respected nations on Earth!
Even Israel has allowed gay soldiers to openly serve for quite awhile. If they can do it, Americans need to grow up.

Eh, not sure about that. There are theories that the Marines and the tougher units have the highest ratio of closet cases due to their macho bravado mentality.

There were gay/lesbian couples at the Oktoberfest. One couple was dressed in traditional garb of lederhosen and dirndl.
