Pretty interesting. I agree with what the writer said: it's just not clear right now because there hasn't been enough effort or time to research the long-term effects of eating such foods. I think that we would all do good if we could just avoid processed foods as best as we can. That would be a start.
Last time I checked, I don't merge DNA with something I just eaten.... last time I checked, there isn't anything toxic in GMO foods either... so while people may want organic food, that is a choice they can make on their own without trying to bring their OPINIONS on everyone else which is really what they want in the first place...
I would think that it would tax the brain chemistry, the liver and the kidneys. However, I think that if we as a country exercised more that somehow it would be metabolized before it compounded in our bodies. Can you all imagine the way we (our society) eats all that junk and we just sit around on it? First of all, most of that stuff is hard to digest, so it is probably just building up. That can't be good, so it probably makes sense to exercise more and sweat it out or aid in digestion by some herbal remedies that provide a similar affect to exercise.

Huh? What are you trying to say? No one said anything about your DNA being merged with the makeup of the ingredients in foods. The point is that once it gets in your body it could be affected other systems of your body (tissue, blood, digestive system, etc.) other than your DNA.
Plus, the last time I checked, your DNA can't be altered.
Dang, this person just started rambling about people's bringing their opinions on others. Jesus Christ, who did that? Besides, that's the keyword: OPINION. What, none of us can listen to opinions now? Got some sensitive folks up in here.

Last time I checked yours was just an opinion as well, but that is o.k. I don't know much about the subject. I just find it interesting and something else to worry about.
I am certainly not a geneticist but I would be more concerned with GM foods where some sort of pest resistance has been used in its development similar to what the article discusses. It seems to me that whatever genetic factor in a plant or animal that can affect a pest could also have an affect an organism that consumes the factor. This could be a reach on my part but the study of BT corn seems to reveal something is happening.
will let you know when the results are in.I shop at local farmers markets for what I dont produce in my large victory garden, even grow my own baccy.
