I agree....

When I was working three minimum wage jobs I got all my tax money back because I filed correctly.

Please identify the "loopholes" you are referring to and tell us the vote that passed them.

You see, there is no such thing as a loophole. They are LEGAL statutes of the law.

The "rich" hire tax lawyers to find those laws and and see how those laws can be applied to their benefit. As is their right.

I'm all for ending loopholes for everyone equally. That includes ending the practice of not taxing welfare checks, food stamps, and Medicaid services as income.

Why do you guys target the rich so much?
5million/yr millionaire who ends up having to personally pay 5% of gross income in the end is still +$250,000

On the other hand, the lower income group who gets more in return than paid through Earned income tax credit, WIC, TANF and numerous government benefits, this one is probably looking at $-4,000. So, in the end, not only did this person not pay a dime, she drained the bucket by $4,000. There are many of these people.

Utilizing legitimate tax deductions and credits are just that. Legitimate.

Look at panhandlers and many in service industry. Those tend to avoid their share by less than legal means. Failing to declare 100% of tip income or panhandling income aren't loopholes. That's called unlawful evasion.

I think that we just need VAT so we're all taxed based on services you buy. Buy a $2,000 TV? It's not essential. Rich or poor, pay $400 tax. Seems fair to me.
