Can people just act on their own volition anymore? Why does big money have to corrupt every movement? The Koch brothers and their cronies hijacked the Tea movement and now Trumka and his big union cronies hijack protest against big banks? UNIONS have nothing to do with the Big Banks!

Unions, Socialists Join Forces to "Occupy Wall Street" (http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/politics/9214-unions-socialists-join-forces-to-occupy-wall-street - broken link)

...particularly after reports claimed union bosses tied to the Obama administration were plotting to bring about chaos. And while the protests which began on September 17 may be small now, supporters and critics alike say this may be only the beginning of something much bigger.
In just the last week several large labor groups have officially announced their support for the occupation. The NYC Transit Workers Union, with nearly 40,000 members, voted to back the protesters on September 28. And the SEIU’s massive 32BJ union, which claims to represent over 120,000 property service workers, recently decided to use an upcoming rally to show “solidarity” with the Wall Street occupiers.

I don't think big labor "needs" the group--look what they did all on their own in Wisconsin. The numbers labor could turn out were almost 100 times what the protesters have done so far. I do think they're sympathetic to what those kids are trying to say though. If the "occupy" message turns out to be getting special interests out of funding elections (and it looks like that's the way they're heading) that should be a cause that pulls in both labor and the tea party--ending government corruption. Both sides should support it, and it's not a right or left thing. I would think the tea party should be all over this as well. It would save unions from having to raise a whole bunch of money on the side for campaign work, but big business won't be happy.

Great response. I have very similar thoughts.

I absolutely agree and thought the Tea party should support these protestors for the exact reasons you mentioned. I always said the division in the country is not about RvsD or RvsL as well.

Lets hope these special interests either 1) keep their distance or 2) are resisted by the protestors.

One thing you should probably learn if you are going to get paid to use social media to push an ideology, is how to put a link into a post. It's a little more professional. I guess they need to train you better, huh?

One thing you need to learn is to use reading comprehension.
Big labor is replacing the princples adheared to by the protestors with ideology.

And I posted the link it did not turn into a hyper link for whatever reason.

Big labor didn't "hijack" it, they organized it from the start. This is astroturf, not grass roots, it was from the very start.

Sorry , I disagree and you do not know that.

As you can see people are sick of intereference in our political system from big money. Now big money is trying to push their way in and influence AGAIN.

Big money already took over the TEA party, I really hope it does not here.

Yes, I do know that because I actually pay attention to who stirred the turd in the punchbowl over in the Middle East to fire-up the so called "Arab Spring". It was the far organized left: Trumpka, Stern, Code Pink, Bernadine Dohn/Bill Ayers, etc...., same thing with this. The funding for #occupywallstreet, day of rage, and the march on DC all came from the Democrat Socialists (Van Jones, Francis Fox Piven & Co....) and Big Labor.

Wake up already; seriously, don't be yet another useful idiot for the Marxist revolution. Do your homework. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

See I say do not be a useful idiot to anyone within the establishment-Rush Beck and Hannity included.
I give leaders like Ron Paul credence.

And as you bring up ideology it only reveals your insecurities about changing how things are done in this nation that right now is heading in the wrong direction.

When something is wrong it needs to be fixed.

These protestors are not calling for a marxist revolution. They are not 1960s hippies, many are middle class young people, with educations and jobs.
Stop being blinded by ideology.

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/occ...ins-2011-10-04

More than two weeks after a band of young people began camping out in the shadow of the New York Stock Exchange, the movement to remake America’s inequitable financial system is growing
It’s been called the Woodstock of Wall Street, but that’s hardly an apt comparison. The gathering at Max Yasgur’s farm 42 years ago was built on a generation looking for peace, love, some drugs and acid rock. The kids today are looking for real, tangible change of the capitalist sort. They’re organized, lucid and motivated.

Actually, they have more in common with the tea-party movement than the hippie dream, with one key difference: They’re smart enough to recognize the nation’s problems aren’t simply about taxes and the deficit.
They want jobs. They want the generation in power to acknowledge them. They want political change. They want responsibility in a culture that abdicates it. They want a decent future of opportunity.
