EinsteinsGhost - Do you agree with the senators that free speech in the 1st Amendment should be regarded as a state granted privilege?

Huh? Shouting fire in a theater is never a privilege.yup, with certain very limited exceptions, we can say whatever our little hearts desire, regardless of the audience. God help us if this ever changes.

Speech is never a privilege, it is a right.

It's astonishing how little some on the left know about free speech, and how willing they are to give it up.

You aren't from the left by any measure and yet support laws that describe "exceptions". You can't be THAT clueless.

I'm not sure what your point is. On one hand you claim certain speech to be a privilege, which clearly isn't true. On the other hand you claim there is a right to regulate speech due to the audience, which also isn't true.

Perhaps you would like to try to explain your position.

I've plenty of posts here explaining my position. In fact, I've used yours too, where you called for "exceptions" to "rights".

Please point put the described exceptions. As you probably are not aware, they are extremely limited and the SCOTUS is loath to expand those handful of exceptions.
