Servile xtians crack me up..Always waiting for the return of the jew zombie. He's always coming in every xtians lifetime but NEVER shows up, never fixes anything, never intervenes, just sits back and watches tradgedy happen, natural disasters, mass hunger only to rely on his servile followers to rationalize/apologize for his existence and non-action. It really is the most embarrassing trait of the human species. People, enjoy the life you have. It's fragile as it is, were floating through space on relatively small rock around a nuclear ball and the religitards are are talking about bowing when their candyman returns to feed them pixy sticks and wheeping about plastic statues. Grow up already.

They never will.
Scripture reveals they will win a lot of battles but they will loss the war.

I would contribute some so they could.

You missed my point.

First of all, I don't have a "GROUP" nor am I a part of any "GROUP".

Beyond that, are you suggesting that atheists make money by "attacking christianity"?

Please . . . explain.

Extreme logical fail.

And before you start your usual ad hominem crap, I'm not an atheist.

Ad hom is a christian's best friend.

Combo weak/meek.

Imo, the average christian's spirit(soul) is not strong.

And many portrary themselves as meek children of god, yet harbor an abundance of hatred and hypocrisy and feelings of revenge against those who do not believe as they do.

The cross is( long ago) paid for by private funds and maintained by private funds. If any other religious group wants to put up a symbol on the tower they are free to do so if they pay for it. The city overwhelmingly wanted it to stay and were willing to donate to fight them in court. The ACLU backed down and the person who wanted it removed dropped the suit.
Call their bluff. Take them to court. Drag the person in who wanted it removed and expose them to public scrutiny.

If a religious symbol is funded privately, it should stay on private property.

If a religious group wants to put a symbol on a CITY water tower, they are violating the separation of church & state.

When you say the "city" overwhelmingly wanted it to stay, are you referring to the council?

NO city council represents ALL citizens.

Or did they take some kind of vote of ALL citizens in town?

Crazy that anyone would spend the time or effort on something so incredibly NOT IMPORTANT.

Funny how atheists are always portrayed as "complainers" or some equally negative term . . . but christians are just poor souls who just want to display their crosses or nativity scenes in public. Tsk. Tsk.

[I told you these Bible thumpers wouldn't be happy with this]
I hve 2 wait 2 spread rep around...OP thinks its unusual for citizens to be barraged by biblical issues...I am the "odd man out" here and may as well be in a foreign country, I teach, get along w. neighbors BUT do not suffer fools gladly. Also Erwin Tenn is a HOTBED of KKK activity, yes, today in 2011

I am saddened that where I live looks like 1940 South....There are some decent city planners, but many "dry counties usually-lol the most religious areas also make the most moonshine"....

In the meantime I guess Amerikan politicos like Romney are getting off on this...they know Appalachia is a "Dead Zone" intellectually, so they can take advantage of it for votes

Lol google Elizabethton TN Mayor- he was arrested last summer for selling and using prostitutes in Red Roof Inn,...but he is a "good christian"
