Senator Rand Paul has placed a hold on a bill sent over by the House that would authorize badly needed repairs and upgrades to the nation's natural gas pipelines. Explosions from old, worn-out pipes and valves have killed hundreds of Americans and endanger thousands more.

Paul's office says he is blocking the bill, because it doesn't go far enough. According to Paul, he wants additional restrictions on grandfathering older pipes.

But, if that's true, the only way to get those restrictions added, is for Paul to lift his "hold" on the bill, so the Senate can work on that issue.

Hmmmm... Now why would "Mr Anti-regulation" be holding up a bill because he thinks it isn't regulatory enough???

Answer: He wouldn't! It's just Paul's lying excuse!

Why is Rand Paul lying? Oh, I dunno... maybe he wants an excuse just in case a pipeline explosion takes out a few blocks in some Kentucky city some day

I have a request for you Red State Wingers around the country: elect as many nuts to your own state houses as you like. But PLEASE be more careful when electing US Senators from now on, OK? There is only 100 of them- the nation can't afford to have screwballs like Rand Paul in the Senate.

The country will be grateful!

So a Senator wants the legislation to actually address the safety recommendations by the NTSB following their inspections and you label him a liar? Really?

Quote:
Paul, who met with NTSB investigators on Wednesday, said in a statement afterward: "The pipeline legislation at hand was written months before the NTSB report was released -- yet the bill authors went ahead without the NTSB’s recommendations, creating regulations that do not address a major issue in pipeline safety.''

Maybe you think it is more beneficial to ignore the safety recommendations by the NTSB and just fly by the seat of Feinstiens' pantsuit instead?

Lessee.....Feinstien is facing a re-election and is way down in the polls while Rand Paul has nothing to gain in CA. Who would you trust more?

Safety first!
