Now if most people on welfare were like this, I would actually support it. As we know, most of them are worthless losers who leach off of all of us working people.
Welfare mom creates million dollar biz: how she did it on Shine (http://shine.yahoo.com/event/poweryourfuture/welfare-mom-creates-million-dollar-biz-how-she-did-it-2573956/ - broken link)
So now she is a FORMER welfare recipient. Too bad more are not like her. Welfare should be a hand up as she used it rather than a hand out as a significant proportion use it.
See that's the problem. Its correct to say some not most.
I stand by what I say. My hours at work were cut and some people said I should apply for partial unemployment benefits. No way, I want to make it on my own. I also qualify for food stamps, but I will not do it. I have even been homeless multiple times but I got out of it on my own without government aid. Most of these people are worthless losers as I said before. There are a few exceptions as I pointed out in this thread. I would be completely and utterly embarrassed to apply for government aid. That would be the day that I truly realized what a failure I was...

I agree. She is probably the 1% of them though unfortunately.

Um good for you? I guess only making enough money to qualify you for actual welfare doesn't technically quantify you as a failure. Going by your logic of course. Riiiiiiight.
Anyway, I didn't know that you personally know the millions of people on welfare to pass that sort of judgement. If I were you and had that sort of omnipotence, I wouldn't waste it working in a dead end reduced hour job that qualifies for welfare assistance.

A failure is when you have to rely on the government to pay your bills. I am poor, but I am proud that I pay my own way. My dead end (now part time) job still pays for my apartment, car, and food. That is all I need....

I guess people define failure on their own terms to exclude themselves from the category.

Are you calling me a failure because I do not make much money? Are people who go to work and make minimum wage failures?
