Really?
In the United States of America? Senators who disagree with the president must defend their choice?
Yes, they should. And not just to the President, but to the entire country they are supposed to work and make decisions for. Only an idiot, who feels cornered would complain about that. Unfortunately, too many of them happen to be employed by the people to work for them.
Asking why a politician opposes or supports an idea or a bill is destroying the economy? And just when I thought things couldn't get weirder in the republican-land.
When we spent $1 trillion recently on the exact same things that are in this bill, it accomplished NOTHING other than putting us $1 trillion deeper in debt. Therefore, spending half as much on the same thing will also have no effect, but WILL put us another 1/2 a trillion in debt. And our debt is already at the point of bankrupting the nation.

Agree with you in spirit. But, really it is that many of sleepers were replaced in November 2010. So, we had two years of carte blanche, with poor to nonexistent results.
Our President must be thinking, "Oh! I can finally blame the failures on someone else. Cover, at last."

He ought to... the other side has been at work since Nov 4, 2008.
Yep, that's how it works. If his policies had worked, he wouldn't have to campaign with such urgency this early.
