While in the first sentence you state you think most are liberal is acceptable since it was stated as opinion, the second is a statement and I challenge it.

My guess would be that most "tech companies" are apolitical. But, assuming for a moment your statement were indeed fact, it only begs the question, So What?
Since my husband is one of those software engineers, I would say that they are mostly liberal. In his field, they are widely liberal. While they are smart, they have no common sense. And that is my opinion

So what?

Maybe you didn't understand...

OBAMA is untouchable. Period. Anybody that disagrees with him gets labeled a racist. You should know that as well as anybody on this forum.

An engineering background is a statistically significant predictor of future religious fundamentalism and terrorist involvement. A lot of engineering/cs students I knew in college fit the mold.

Yeah that's most often the case in the workforce. Lots of lone wolf cowboy devs who think their code is sacrosanct and freak out if you point out errors.

You’re incorrect. Most urban crack dealers, car jackers and gangstahs [gangsters] don’t turn out to vote and more than likely doesn’t have a political philosophy. But nice try there buddy.

They don't need to vote to have a political philosophy... i.e. illegal aliens.

Who said anything about voting?

The question was liberal or conservative leamings and I believe the aforementioned lean to the lib side. YMMV.

A lot of the techie people I know tend to be a bit libertarian leaning. Or perhaps, socially liberal but fiscally conservative.

It seems to me that a high percentage of wealthy people are liberal. Why is it that most of the states and metropolitan areas with the highest per-capital incomes - San Francisco Bay area, greater New York City, metropolitan Washington D.C., states like Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, and New Jersey - are among the most liberal metropolitan areas and states in the USA?
