You can't, because there are none. The U.S. is a very right wing country.

You are very unaware. All democrats have socialistic foundations, are tricksters or have been fooled. America was started to get away from the socialistic tendencies of England. Democrats want to revert back to that. That is not in any way 'progress'

Democrats are now panderers that make a 'living' from ignorance. All they have created is more corruption.

Give one clear example of how any single 'Republican" or conservative throughout American history has created a non- Constitutional 'right-wing' atmosphere in the country. I can give more than a few examples of Democrats being non-Constitutional.

Condoning a lack of personal responsibility, which Democrats apparently love to do, only makes things much worse over the long term. This is what is clearly happening. Open your eyes and smell the coffee.

How much did you pay in federal income taxes, percentage or round numbers, this year of your earned income?

Publicly owned infrastructure, public hospitals, public parks, the post office, the military--- all of these things are arguably "means of production." Welfare payments and other social welfare, however, are NOT means of production. The prime minister of Denmark reproached Bernie Sanders who pointed to Denmark as practicing "democratic socialism." The Prime Minister observed that Denmark was a "strongly capitalist nation." When inequality of income and wealth get out of hand, as in much of the West today, constitutionally permitted taxation, rather than socialism, is the answer. During the 1950s and 1960s in the US, the tax rate on incomes of over several million dollars annually was 90%. Yet the economy boomed during this period.

Let's all post in a six year old thread dredged up by a one post newbie.

You didn't answer the question. Name a Socialist politican in the U.S.

If your answer is "all Democrats", then you have no idea what Socialism is. Democrats in the U.S. would generally be considered right-wing in the rest of the developed world. Even the left wing in places like Sweden aren't really Socialist these days.

The rest of your post is just ranting about Democrats, which has nothing to do with this thread.

None of your business, and completely irrelevant to the thread topic.

Paying income taxes doesn't equate to Socialism.

People on the Far Right like to throw around the term "socialism" to scare people. Any attempt to improve the quality of life for the average person is branded "socialism".

The United States practices social darwinism.

People get left behind simply because they lack the means to obtain an education, pay for healthcare, housing, etc. The cards are stacked against many working class people. Wages are stagnant and prices keep climbing. Displaced by a changing job market? That's your fault!

Should education or healthcare be free? No! But you have to admit that it's unaffordable for many Americans and something has to be done.

England, a nation several centuries older than socialism, was socialist?

And no, the Democratic party is not socialist. The modern Democratic party is founded on a social liberal policy, which is the same as a classical liberal but believes in things like welfare and economic regulations. If we view that as moving to the left, then since then, they've been moving towards the right, supporting policy that primarily benefits corporations.

As for Republicans violating the constitution, many believe Lincoln over stepped his bounds by abolishing slavery. Many note that Teddy Roosevelt's environmental protection may have been uncontitutional or at least against the spirit of the constitution. He was also an imperialist, which at that time was far more controversial than it is now. There was Nixon's watergate; not necessarily unconstitutional but it was an impeachable offense. Though, there is a problem I'm going to predict; what you think is unconstitutional is more important than what the courts decide. And indeed, that may be valid. Look at the Patriot Act; it's a violation of people's privacy, objectively, yet it passed.

And I want to point it out again: it's ****ing stupid to suggest the founding fathers were fighting socialism a century before socialism existed.

Denmark is not socialist. At least not under a traditional definition as Marx would define it.

This is why Denmark's prime minister told Bernie to stop calling them socialist.

Denmark overwhelmingly has privately owned means of production and distribution - a market economy. In some ways Denmark has a more conservative economy than the US.

Denmark has lower corporate taxes, more regressive income taxes, less corporation regulations, etc...

The libertarian CATO group claims that Denmark has more economic freedom and is more economically libertarian than the US.
