The only thing people I know want are a decent job. Obviously with all the insurance that you are forced to get one needs a job that can pay for it. Who's idea was it to start making everything mandatory at the same time as they gave all the jobs in this country away? I'd call that poor planning, ey! Some must be looking back and saying...........Whoops! My bad! Made most cities unwalkable with horrible transportation systems so you really need a car, our bad! Built most homes cheap, fast and disposable so you really need insurance, our bad! Makes little sense, no wonder every things falling apart.
Making insurance mandatory for anything causes a monopoly cesspool seems to be our specialty. We need to rip the house down and start a new, with much better planning. You can't expect people to live in a country that proclaims freedom at every opportunity yet has little freedoms left to give. The freedom to not find employment because you can't get to work, have a home, or go to the doctor in your area because you lack all this mandated insurance is ridiculous and poorly planned.
You're on to something, now connect the dots. Some of it is not planned, make no mistake- a lot of it is planned. Open borders, outsourced jobs, ridiculous school loan amounts, predatory banks, predatory insurance rates, skyrocketing energy costs, cheap TVs, cloths, junk etc......All with the blessing of the federal government. The passage of 3 new NAFTA agreements tells me our government and large business are more concerned with other issues not pertaining to American middle class.

LOL. Yeah I remember that line. I was thinking why not clean that up first. It was one of those secrets they have I guess. Pass the bill and THEN we'll clean it up. Still a mess.

We didn't. It was shoved through the loopholes.

Same with gasoline. If the price of crude rises today, the price at the pump will rise by the end of the day. Crude oil takes more than a few hours to make it to the pumps as refined gasoline. If you announce an increase in available cash, everyone reaches for it. Conversely if you announce a decrease, everyone acts to protect themselves.

Companies are just covering their butts now for what has already been announced. It's just business.

That's what the FDIC has been doing with bank takeovers for some time now.
Late Friday afternoon. By Monday all is forgotten.

The part of the bill which the Admin. dropped had to do with long term care and was voluntary. It was not actual heathcare. It was to help people pay for care during prolonged stays in hospitals or nurse care at home. This is a stlye of INs. that the major Ins. co. are trying to get people in late 40's to 60's to buy. The younger you are the better off you would be to just save some extra as you grow older, but as the older people on this will tell you you dont think you need this coverage. It was a good try but way to expensive so Pres. Obama did the right thing by dropping it.

There's a lot of stuff in that healthcare bill that's not "actual healthcare" yet there was no way to fund it. But it was there, in the bill, in black and white.
