Of course, we don't know exactly what happened before the cop punched the guy in the first video, but this video has to make you wonder about some of the actions the NYPD has taken over the last several weeks.
In the second video, a NYC cop runs over a protester's leg with his scooter. Again, we don't know what exactly led to all of this.
I’m very sympathetic to their outrage about corrupt bailouts and crony capitalism. But these people don’t draw the right conclusions. They complain about the problems caused by government, yet they generally think the solution is…you guessed it…even more government.
They should have crapped on the scooter.
It was pretty bad acting on the protestors part. There seemed to be more camera people than either protestors or police.
The Tea Party represent the rightwing fringe, which is likely backed by a good percentage of law enforcement, as both strive for a more authoritarian society, with less freedom and slavish devotion to a strong central authority (police, military, etc.)
These protestors are the opposite of the Tea Party as they value civil rights and liberty for all, not just a narrow minded group of homogenous extremists.
Let's see how many congressional seats this not fringe OWS movement will be able to get in 2012.
