The investigation into suspected fake petition pages used to place Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton on the 2008 primary ballot looks worse for Democrats the further it goes.
Among the latest revelations: that the fake pages passed through the St. Joseph County voter registration office on days when the Republican head of the office was absent. And that without the falsified names, Obama and possibly Clinton might not have qualified for the ballot.
Voters increasingly skeptical of the political process are not likely to view what happened -- even three years later -- as water under the bridge. Nor should they.
Falsifying a ballot petition is a Class D felony in the state.

What can I say about this; I am not shocked, but ths shouldn't be happening IMO. RCCCB

You realize that they were the only 2 names on the ballot in the primary, right, since each party in the state has their own primary. Since they need 500 signatures to qualify to be on the ballot, and if they had not qualified in that district/county, they still would have been the only people recieving votes.
While it is a low level felony (akin to a second DUI in the state), it may come down to somebody using the wrong sheet for that county. I've seen both parties here collecting door-to-door signatures, without a county/city listed at the top of the form. It's a mistake waiting to happen, but it is just a mistake.
A final note: while they might have come in while the county elections official was out, they still have to be approved by the him/her, don't they. I don't know since I don't live there, but here, the clerk would have to verify, and being of the opposing party, you'd think that the office would review them then, not years later.
It's always amazed me how some individuals continually minimize voting/election fraud with the refrain, or a variation of, "well it wouldn't have made any difference anyway".
So you're saying since the currently exposed fraud didn't effect the outcome of the election it's ok.
It may have effected the outcome since Democrats did this more than likely elsewhere. Hillary might have been the real candidate minus the fraud.
