They are "unpopular" according to whom? Polls in which 70% of those asked are Democrats?

It took *******s three years just to acknowledge that they even existed and even then it was only to demonize them. The communist/socialist/radicals/marxist/hippies/petty criminals, they fell all over themselves to give them a reach around.

Go figure...

Clinton 'balanced the budget' because NEWT GINGRICH and the Republican controlled house made it a PRIORITY!! Clinton was in office when it happened..but that is ablout the extent of it. Oh...and BTW...Gingrich was a REPUBLICAN!!

As for the Bush presidency? Yes....he certainly did have a budget problem. 9-11 happened on his watch...the economy was on it's way down at the end of the Clinton years, so Bush inherited a downturn there....then we had the AIRLINES BAILOUT after 9-11....then we had the war in Iraq...a stimulus package to bolster the sagging economy (which got decidedly worse after 9-11), and then the war in Afghanistan. I don't recall ANY such issues befalling the Clinton administration as they basked in the glory and riches of the tech boom on wall street.

If you knew ANYTHING at all...you would realize that DEMOCRATS traditionally (at least since Kennedy) are the big SPENDERS. They are the social program gurus who are always looking for a way to get people to DEPEND on government for their livelihood...just as you see with the current president. Spend, Spend, Spend....and ususally raise taxes, gut the military or raid Social Security to do it.

When you actually get a clue, come back for your next History lesson.

Wow. Just wow. You really need to get your news from somewhere else than HuffPo.....the average american cares quite a bit about the deficit.

You mock the LIE that the GOP causes deadlock, yet you slobber all over Obama, who just can't compromise not matter what.

Funny...the folks who praise Obama and the democrats don't seem able to explain WHY...since the dems had the white house....the senate..and the house control for the first 2 years of OBAMA's 4 year reign..they:

1. Could not pass a budget..
2. Increased the debt from 4 trillion to 12 trillion
3. Did nothing to fulfill Obama's campaign pledges (bring the troops home and government transparency)
4. Did nothing to reform immigration
5. Did nothing other than spend 780 BILLION dollars on a useless stimulus package that did nothing to decrease unemployment.

THAT is the legacy of the democrats. They had 2 years to get things turned around and did ZERO to do so....in FACT..they have made things WORSE for the 2 years they had control!! Now they want to blame the republicans for 'holding up' Obama from getting the country back on track?>????? HAHAHAHAHA!! All I can say is this...THANK GOD FOR THE REPUBLICANS FOR KEEPING OBAMA AT BAY FOR THE LAST YEAR!!
