No sarcasm detector? And they're run in series-parallel circuits where you only lose a small section of the grid if something does occur, not parallel where you lose all 3,000 miles with a small piece of tin foil. You can't Wiley Coyote an electric fence. You can cut it with insulated cutters but if it's 10 feet high you better not have a metal or wood ladder.
Friend I am an electrical engineer. There is absolutely no way to prevent those things from being defeated by hanging a conductor between them ...don't give me any parallel/series nonsense. you can't get shocked by two or more wires connected together.
YOu use such a device in a prison situation where you control the side under attack. Other wise forget about it.
And there are all sorts of clever ways to short things out. Hell spray them with salt water and watch the sparks.

Right. Because if a building's lights go out all of them go out...
Do you think the illegal Mexicans crossing the border have electrical engineering degrees?
I haven't read this thread but at first glance the whole electric fence idea seems like a good idea until you take it up a notch and the realize it would be PEOPLE that would be dying...(not to mention all the animals that would get caught in the fence by accident) This would fast become a Public Relations nightmare of the Berlin Wall magnitude...no thanks...
one small problem with that fence,it would work. the corporate owned gov would never permit it
Unless GE got the contract.
