Who knows? It just says "roads" in the thread title. It could be construed to mean anything. You pay taxes for interstates, too.

I just think it should be a pay as you go for roads

you want to travel the interstate from bangor, maine to maimi, florida...this is the total tolls for I95....you want to travel the interstate from savana, Georga to san diego, cali...this is the total tolls for I20.....

etc

the same for state highways...ie the new york thruway, or the garden state parkway in jersey

Privatization of infrastructure especially roads is a perfect example of how you can have capitalism without a free market.

We are led to believe that privatization is always the best solution when clearly this is not always the case.

I don't get it? If you drive from Buffalo, WY to the Mexican border on 1-25 (to use a local example), you are paying quite a bit in gas tax as you go.

yep gas tax that is NOT BEING APPLIED to I25, it gets mixed somewhere in the general fund, and ends up paying for a politicians vacation instead

if you tax the road..the RoaD that gets the most WEAR AND TeaR will get the money...not a stupid politicain that would rather sink the gas tax into amtrac
