Seems only the EU countries believe the FUD the UN puts out on CO2 emissions and the Kyoto Protocol will almost surely expire at the end of 2012.

Quote:
But the belief that global warming can be halted through international cooperation is elusive. The Kyoto Protocol, the world's only binding climate agreement, will soon expire. The most important means to date of compelling industrialized nations to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions seems likely to become a mere footnote in history.
Music to my ears:

In addition, mistakes and slip-ups have harmed the credibility of climate scientists.

It appears the "developing nations" greed is going to be their downfall. The big boys are tired of being blackmailed.

"And now other important countries, like Japan, Canada and Russia, are refusing to commit to new binding CO2 targets for the period after 2012, as long as India and China do not cooperate. The emerging powers are calling for decisive action by the industrialized nations before they are willing to do anything, creating a vicious cycle. "

I don't give a crap about the Kyoto protocol. The USA simple needs to step up its game and compete with China before they completely corner the market on renewable energy. The USA's economy should be almost completely powered by nuclear, wind, and solar. Tell the middle east to eat one and we should be in complete control over our energy needs.

Well China will insist for the next 50 years that it is an "emerging" country and doesn't have to comply.
China alone with their pollution could kill the world yet they are "exempt".

I love these squeals about China yet they are the most polluting nation on the planet and the greenies never say a squeak about it.

How many years do you think it would take for us to achieve energy independence with your methods. The Chinese are doing it with coal and we have recently stopped the use of coal through regulation, not legislation.

Kyoto was a failure when it started because it didn't even have oversight so that other countries continue doing what they do and there were no penalties... The US however did enforce it on their own people... It was pretty retarded... even past Presidents recognize how utterly useless it was and didn't attend... some did attend... idiots...

Every country that has tried government-sponsored green jobs have seen it become boondoggle after boondoggle. I guess after Spain's experiment blew up in its face, and the UK's too, and now you have Solyndra, you still want to go on? Is this typical liberal think? If it is, then we really shouldn't take your side seriously when it comes to fearmongering on CO2 emissions.

Just think, there are flying critters all over this country so wind is in trouble before it gets started. In my county hunters and environmentalists have managed to stop location of wind farms all over the county because some prairie chickens might get killed. Hug a tree, is al they can say.
