The state of Illinois has rescinded funding to the Catholic Charities Organization to the tune of $30,600,000.00 because the Agency wants to stop otherwise qualified gay couples from adopting needy children.
Senator Kyle McCarter has introduced a bill which basically restores funding to Catholic Charities while allowing "them" to discriminate against qualified gay couples.
The state passed the Illinois Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act in January preventing the church from using government and taxpayer monies to discriminate against gay couples adopting.
It's ashame the church is putting their dogma and anti-gay agenda BEFORE the needs of children longing for a stable and loving home.
Also considering the Catholic Church's recent child abuse scandals; it hardly holds ANY high moral ground on this issue.
Qualified gay couples are just as capable at parenting as their straight counterparts.
Here's a link on gay parenting from The American Psychological Association.....citing that gays can raise children just as well OR better than their straight counterparts.

We discovered there may have been a possibility of early humans procreating with neandethals. That may explain a lot of the ignorance in society today.

What's really a shame is that Catholic Charities which has centuries of experience placing orphaned and abandoned kids into private loving homes is unable to do so now because of the agenda of a minority of 1% of the population.
Such is life under tyrannical and radical Liberalism, the innocents suffer.

Why was a religious organization getting taxpayer funding in the first place?
Good question
I have no problem with the Church discriminating on their own "dime, although I don't like or condone it; however when they are funded through my(our) tax dollars they then must follow the laws just like everyone else in our country.
However I find it laughable that the Catholic Church is allowing and condoning pedophilia among their clergy; while claiming the high road here and attacking gay parents without any scientific literature to back up their rhetoric.

LOL...another good point>>>>>
And here's another link from the A.P.A.........American Psychological Association.......
Given their track record we shouldn't be placing children anywhere near catholics.
