Harry Reid: We Need To Worry About Government Jobs More Than Private Sector Ones

Quote:
Thanks for the ad material Harry!
By the way, Obama does this all the time too. On his bus tour touting his jobs bill he always talks about putting teachers and cops back to work. It's always about public sector workers, never anything about the crushing burden this hiring puts on people not working for the state.

Sen. Reid Says "Private Sector Jobs Are Doing Just Fine" - YouTube

My God, how do people like him get elected and stay elected?!?!?!

well, Reid is an idiot.

Private sector capital owners are doing fine, thanks to government help. Private sector jobs are obviously not doing fine.

"Government help"

Well who's running the government?
That could influence your outlook some.

The public sector is shedding jobs at a high rate. The private sector is actually adding jobs.

Yup. I wouldn't say that the private sector is doing great, but the main reason why job growth is so slow is because state and local governments are delaying contracts and laying off workers. And this isn't really helping private workers either, since people who have no jobs also have much less money to spend.

Adding public sector jobs WE have to pay for is NOT going to help the economy. They added government jobs two years ago and howd that turn out? More public sector jobs with outrageous benefits and pensions is NOT what this country needs.

Why don't we focus on adding jobs that don't cost taxpayer money?
