ongoing battle between DC and the states. DC wants to allow unsafe vehicles to enter us to delivery goods. the states wont let them. its that simple. the standards for mexico and that of the US are not the same. think not? go buy some flooring tile in mexico and compare it to home depot here. they can do it to our standards but if they dont have to, they wont.

How do they handle the licensing requirements? Not sure which is more strict Canadian or US but for example in the US if you have a CDL you also need medical card. For hazmat you need to retest for the license, if you're driving a tanker you need tanker endorsement etc.
The trucks can be inspected but if Mexico is handing out licenses in Cracker Jack boxes....
Officer: "Do you know you were going 75 in a 55 zone?"
Driver: "Si, but I thought my speedometer was kph, and 75 kph is only 46 mph."
Officer: "Uh, have a nice day..."
