The Miracle of Oil From Sand

Quote:
The pipeline would almost certainly be a major economic boon, however. Studies project the creation of as many as 600,000 jobs and a $775 billion boost to the U.S. gross national product by 2035 as a result of importing Canadian oil.

The Keystone XL project has already been delayed for three years. The U.S. State Department now says that a final decision will be reached on the pipeline by the end of the year. TransCanada Pipeline Vice President Robert Jones declared that the pipeline is “shovel ready” and construction would involve hiring as many as 10,000 Americans immediately, with up to 34,000 by 2014. Alberta’s Minister of Energy Ronald Liepert, who was present on my tour, dryly commented that in June Alberta (population 3.7 million) created 22,000 new jobs, compared to just 18,000 for the entire U.S.
Delayed for three years - hmmm, how long has President Obama been serving?

You get employment and lower oil prices. That helps Americans' bottom line. What's the holdup?

It's diryt, evil, dirty and fraught with danger and evilness. Let's just shut down the whole of domestic energy production, which obama is doing, where the jobs are he so desperately needs.

The US and Canada are each others largest trade pardners. For the most part , the oil drilling/producing companies are ether Us based or totally International.. The problems are not just with US interests. Ca. has a lot to do with the pipeline., and should , as it has more miles of line than the US including Alaska. Alaska is the real problem. So far no decisions have been made in the Alaska Government/ political arena as some want to go south while the Ca. wants to go n and east be fore turning south.
This is a huge undertaking that's been going on for years.

It does nothing of the sort. You get employment temporarily from a select few that are highly skilled in certain trades, and nothing more.

Oil prices will not lower. That is heavy oil. It is totally useless to you. Heavy oil is so useless to you that you export most of your California Heavy and North Slope oil.

Why is Canada hot for this? Canada doesn't like refineries, because they pollute and they are expensive and they are a drain on cash and credit.

The US does not refine heavy oil into gasoline.

Sorry about your luck.
