Further proof that they want Sharia Laws.....They are not here to assimilate....they are here to dominate. It was the amusement park ride incident this past summer!! IT'S A FRIKKIN' SAFETY HAZARD!!! But Noooooo!! Then a small dush up broke out! The drivers license photo in Florida,,,,and on and on..... They keep pushing....and it's a plan. You are naive if you think it's not!
We are becoming little nations within our nation! That is not a good thing!
Even with immigrants (legal and illegal) running over our south border. Some could care less about melting into the American way. And they are not encouraged to anymore! why even learn english?
all of the products have directions in english and spanish. We have Spanish radio and TV. Some stores have two kinds of exit signs!! "sign" Even the BMV have drivers info in spanish!! And Spanish Yellow page directories!
Screw CAIR!! The JROTC did the right thing on this one! Some sanity finally won out!

People may not realize ROTC Comes under the U.S. Army, and the regulations concerning the uniform, again, from the U.S. Army.
If a HAJIB is prohibited from being worn, while in full dress U.S. Army uniform, or any army uniform, because it is visible or covers any part of the uniform, then the same prohibition holds to an ROTC uniform.
The school system has no jurisdiction over these requirements at all, the uniform requirements and not being allowed to wear the HAJIB are part of the U.S. Army uniform regulations.
Agreed with the above posts. ROTC programs are run by their respective parent branches of the military. As such, if a hijab is not in line with the dress/uniform regulations set forth by the Navy, Air Force, or Army, then it isn't permissible to wear while in uniform. If she doesn't like it, that's too damned bad. As far as I know, exceptions can be made but they are exceedingly rare and usually only in the case of soldiers who are chaplains.
An interesting point was made in the article, that Jewish students are indeed allowed to wear the yarmulke under their covers... however, as pointed out by an officer in said article, yarmulkes can be covered by the patrol cap/helmet/whatever. A hijab in uniform wouldn't be quite as subtle.
