Frankly I think automatic citizenship should be reserved for the children of Green card holders and US citizens only. Everyone else can have the opportunity to apply for citizenship at 18 with full renunciation of previous citizenship except the children of illegals.

Which category does a refugee (seeking asylum) fit in? Documented (before the process completes)? Legal immigrant before the process completes? Illegal immigrant until the process completes? Something else?
