Now does this compare to what happened to the two year old? Absolutely not. But don't think we are so high and mighty when it comes to our own morals when in reality we are no different.
In fairness, you have to realize that China is basically the USA in the 1920's in terms of worker conditions, pollution etc.
Now certainly you can criticize the US for once being absolutely no better.....but to ignore the CURRENT state of affairs, like where people bring home baby milk powder in their suitcases is to avoid the reality.

Oh please, how does the rest of the world view Americans?
Every country has it's good and bad, too many Americans think they are better then everyone else.
We'd be better off taking our collective noses out of the air and concentrating on our own nasty things then bemoaning one incident in a foreign country...

Perhaps I should be more specific. The idea that a lone toddler has the capacity to cross any manner of street is laughable. How many times have you seen mothers with their toddlers on the loose LUNGE to go catch them as soon as they near the street? It's in a mother's nature. Anybody who can't see that a toddler is one step up from a baby, and does not possess the ability to make a rational decision about crossing a street, is a complete idiot.

Sounds like the baby was ditched, or placed.
A small child is of very little conspicuity in vehicular traffic, day or night.
