Obama set to bring home all troops in Iraq by end of 2011 (Iran, Afghanistan)

President Obama plans to announce Friday that all U.S. forces will be withdrawn from Iraq by the end of 2011, a senior administration official told Fox News.
The president is to speak at about 12:45 p.m. EDT after completing a secure video conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

Glad to hear it, and it's about time!

Obama's announcement would close off the possibility of maintaining a U.S. military presence in Iraq beyond a Dec. 31 withdrawal deadline set in 2008.

Its interesting that in spite of all the "hope and change" talk, Obama followed through with the Bush policy, with no changes.

I guess you think that keeping that promise over 2 years after the promise said he would do it will work for something other than to win some votes from people who didn't hear when he said he would bring the troops out.
