In his mind, I'm sure he thought he was acting out of love for country. Just as Muslim terrorists think they are acting out of love for Allah. He probably thought the officers who stopped him would be sympathetic brothers-in-arms to his cause.

People transporting firearms for the stated purpose of carrying out unauthorized "arrests" (illegal detentions) of anyone, let alone courthouse officers, should be treated as dangerous criminals.

Let's compare apples to apples, shall we? The Bush DOJ didn't prosecute the "New Black Panther" idiots, nor the Minutemen harassing Hispanic voters in 2006.

He didn't threaten anyone. He said his intent was to get his friend out he never said to use violence.
So how was he planning to spring his friend? Arguing with the guards until they keeled over from boredom?

That being said, I'm glad your movement embraces non-violence, I think that's very laudable...

Protip: Don't tell witnesses you're about to spring a militia ally from jail and then drive your arsenal across a State line on the scheduled date.

I really wish I could live in whatever cozy dark world you live in and felt safe from my government. Fortunately and some times unfortunately I have seen the power the federal government can throw at someone it scares the hell out of me
The overreach of government actually is a concern that we share. The aggressive tactics employed by law enforcement, the questionable plea deals, the necessity of DAs to get convictions to further their career.

But I'll still take the government's law enforcement any day of the week, rather than have a posse of self-appointed "militiamen" show up on somebody's doorstep to perform a phony "citizen's arrest" of a jury member, because one of their dumb-ass Birther buddies got caught breaking the law.

That cure isn't just worse than the disease, it's not even a cure.

I just hope that you folks do this before I get to old to put a round in the closest right-wing crazy because believe it or not, right wing crazies aren't the only folks with guns.

I am sure we aren't the only ones with weapons. Time will come soon enough....been thinking maybe what we really do need is Obama for 4 more years to make sure America's destruction happens sooner than later.
