Why in the heck did the former sitting president go to a birthday party for John McCain when NOLA was drowning?
Because it was the responsibility of the LOCAL authorities to act and ASK for help from the Feds, which they hadn't at that point. The Feds can't just go into a state without being asked first in situations like that.
He's campaigning (again) and brainwashed Hollywood leftists are his biggest benefactors.

True. That's probably why he'll never go on shows like Meet the Press and Face the Nation where the discussions and questions would be too intellectual and diverse for him to handle.
he gets to come off as warm and fuzzy and funny to the voters. And it's basically free press.
