This era was deep in Reagan's "war on drugs" and the fat guy talking sounds like a tea bagger today. In their minds use of excessive force and violence is always the solution to every problem. Paul owned him and he's just as right then as he is today. The war on drugs was a monumental failure up there at the top of the laundry list of other Reagan failures.

Ron Paul is trying to win the presidential nomination today, and during the same time as the video was published he was raked over coals after spending 14 years publishing bigoted material. You know, things pointed out in the other 2 sentences you deleted out while quoting the post.
If he was just as right then as he is today, with all the hate and bigotry printed with his endorsement in his name and using his money...only another bigot would want him in charge of things. How is it we can only see one side of Paul, and not see the other out there for nearly a decade and a half?
