Because he said that there "shouldn't be a Hispanic majority" and obviously some people would/could take offense to that, considering the high population of Hispanic people in Florida. If he really said "Hispanic-speaking" rather than Spanish or another language he was probably also a little politically incorrect as well. Interesting article.
Both historically and now, Hispanics are a HUGE part of the culture of the U.S.

Well, this country always had a love-hate relationship with Spain and Mexico. My personal opinion, what really bothers me is not having different cultures move here, is that those new cultures expect US to conform to them, rather than the other way around. Even most Hispanics annoy me sometimes, because they don't believe in the U.S. Constitution and its ideals, the way it was meant to be. Not the Progressive perversion of the constitution, like, the 2nd Amendment is only talking about the National Guard. Another thing that bothers me is the belief the constitution says government must take care of everybody from cradle to grave, not true again. That's what bothers me about most immigration today.
Er, because he said that man of Hispanics in Central Florida are there ILLEGALLY. The majority of Hispanics in Florida are Puerto Rican's which are American citizens. Redistricting is controlled by population, the influx of hispanic's into the region have led to the addition of 2 additional seats to the district. If the Sen. can't handle that, he shouldn't be a Senator.

To bad this topic and situation isn't dealing w/ Spain or Mexico. It's dealing with Puerto Rico. A U.S. territory. People who are U.S. Citizens.

I don't think he should apologize. Every country has a right to preserve & protect its culture.
