To dole out welfare checks?

Rally your local offices to eliminate those "greedy union" police, fire fighters, construction workers and teachers.
Having paved roads, an education, a police force and fire fighters are just hippy stuff

This thread is about federal employees. If you want to discuss local governments, start your own. Don't hijack this one. Why don't we start by cutting the staff of social security, welfare, medicare, medicaid, EBT and UI? Government should exist to protect basic rights. Not to provide for the individual needs of citizens.

I agree but we need to end the most ridiculous and biggest spending problems the nation has from the handouts to the rich, big oil, big pharma, big bankers and other large corporations. Staff wise most of those low income benefits programs go through local municipality centers which aren't very well staffed.

What handouts do we give to the rich? The rich pay more than their share of taxes while the poor get handouts.

Of course you would go after the things that benefit the many, while completely skipping over things such as homeland security and the obese defense department. Let me know when homeland security protects any of my basic rights.

Those things are not the responsibility of the government. It is not the government's job to make sure someone has a job. That is their responsibility. Those programs simply train people that it is OK to not take care of themselves. Homeland security has protected the borders of this country (you know...one of those things defined in the Constitution).

But I will make you a deal (compromise is the key here, isn't it?) We do a 75% cut on defense, homeland security and all of the programs I mentioned. I would be comfortable with that. Do we have a deal?

Your rights are trampled when the United States government turns a blind eye to illegal immigration.

You lose clout when the Department of Defense gives guns to Mexican Druglords. And now, nobody knew about it.

People are butchered. Do you think that Democrats will do anything about it. HELL NO.

When the Feds bailout corporations, do you think that they are looking out for you? Na.

I can't emphasize enough that you have to make your own destiny. If America becomes too Socialistic ... move. And I'll move too.

I would love to see that number at less than 100,000.
