Army Ranger Killed On 14th Deployment To War Zone | Fox News

My heart goes out to his wife and kids but something that has been nagging at me is that it seems a little selfish of this guy to leave his wife and kids to go off and fight a war no matter how much he believed in it. If he didn't have kids fine. Go off and be mr. gi joe. But the minute you have kids in my opinion is the minute it's your priority to make sure your butt stays alive and they have a father in their lives. Why have kids if you are doing 14 frickin deployments to a war zone? I don't get it. And replies can keep all the hoo ya pseudo patriotic mumbo jumbo to yourselves. Family and your children should trump EVERYTHING.....even a senseless war on terrorism.

He was doing his job. This is what he did for a living, nothing more, nothing less.

Would you call out a cop, a fireman, a pilot for performing their duties?

For some it goes beyond a job, it becomes a calling. The man did his job well by all accounts. Danger was part of it.

Laissez-tomber.

Actually, it is WASHINGTON that is putting our military men and women in harm's way.

There is no reason for our troops to be placed overseas to be target practice for terrorists, driving around roads filled with bombs, with no mission or goals or idea what "winning" might be.

The Military Industrial Complex can be transitioned into something that isn't destructive, lethal and just plain evil. We can use all that technological might to build things that help mankind, instead of destroying it. The current idea of a huge military budget that floods the world with arms and bombs and money for war lords, all so our brilliant leaders can send our best young men and women to be murdered trying to police nations full of uncivilized savages, MUST END.

And Ron Paul is the ONLY politician who will stop using our taxpayer's dollars to fill the world with death and misery and pain and destruction. (Now, if you're immediate response is to post insults and call Ron Paul schoolyard names, stop and instead write WHICH policy of his you object to, and why he is "wrong.")

Im sure this guy could have taken a different job by his 14th deployment to a combat zone. Cops and firemen are apples and oranges.

That might have been a good argument back when there was a draft but the man volunteered to be a warrior (and I say that with the upmost respect) so I see no reason to denigrate his memory with this kind of self-serving commentary.

By the way, how many anti-war rallies back in 2003 did you attend? Just curious.

Do you know anyone who is in the Military? Was anyone in your family in the Military? Were you in?

Sorry but it is difficult for someone who was never in the Service to understand this.

Family and your children should trump everything! I agree....Most parents work so they can feed their family.

This man was no different. Who the heck are you to judge?

Do you have kids? Are you married? If not, how about you join the Armed Forces so that parents don't have to after all someone needs to do the job, right?

In a sense, one could make a case that it is irresponsible. But SOMEONE has to do it.
