They’re railing against freeloaders and ex-cons for stealing their stuff and spoiling their utopia. They’re squabbling with each other over money and power. The weather is turning frightful and a cumbersome bureaucracy of their own making is strangling their spontaneity.

Their invasion is costing downtown Manhattan businesses and residents a boatload of money. But watching the Occupy Wall Street vagabonds bang their heads against the laws of human nature -- that’s priceless.
Occupy Wall Street’s descent from utopia to “Lord of the Flies” - NYPOST.com

Love it.

They don't know anything other than capitalism and the current power structure.

Words of utopia and wealth distribution and share-all can take a whole 'nother meaning when tried to put into practice. Not everyone "contributes", some are more power hungry than others and most are learning that you can't have everything you want because you have a big pile of money.

Most utopia communes fall apart for the very same reasons.

"Lord Of The Flys" - Let me explain to you where this term came from...it is ancient tribal terminolgy....It was one tribe or class critizing the other...and saying that YOUR god is lord over the communal pile of goat poo...or lord of crap...AND their god is better than yours ....the secondary name for Satan was Belzebub...which translated mean LORD OF THE FLYS.

Here is the difference between the protestors and the so-called arch-captialist they detest...The high end capitalist have a god...it is the god of dominace - ego and power...not even money...It isw beyond money - when you deal in the billions - that consists of a few letter that go back and forth between a few lawyer - no real cash changes hands - just power is traded and shifted.

To the protestors who are a more common bunch...they are lower down on the food chain and they have one god - Mammon - the god of wealth - The protestors worship money...Like hungry dogs they want more food in the bowl...The reason why they will never see eye to eye with the capitalists is because they can not help but view the world in base terms. Capitalist control the population by controling what they love most - MONEY...Kind of like coercing a dog with bits of food..

The protestors will have no success until they get beyond the level of acting like begging dogs - the more they beg the more the master will deny them - our of sheer spiteful pleasure and power mongering....ironically - both have the same god and have no faith in themselves...It's like asking satan to exile satan.

Here's a funny tidbit from the article:

".......Meanwhile, donations of goods and cash pile up, with a reported $500,000 on deposit.

The cash marks an embarrassment for a movement supposedly railing against capitalism and wealth, especially now that a radical group called the Alliance for Global Justice is legally sponsoring the protest. By lending its tax-exempt status -- for a 7 percent cut! -- the global-justice group allows donors to deduct their contributions from federal taxes and gives its own board control over the money.......

I thought "Lord of the Flies" (not "Flys") was a book. Was the title from some bible thing?

Much as i empathize with their cause and right to protest they couldnt be going about it more wrong, no leader, no clear demands, no idea of an outcome, bums and freeloaders infiltrating their protest and winters coming on.My advice would be to try a different tactic for the winter then forget about the occupy baloney next year and just organize massive one day protests..

Running a protest movement apparently involves a lot of dirty work and isn’t so much fun. Imagine how hard it will be to run the world!
Sounds like government at work.

What I found interesting was:
Quote:
The cash marks an embarrassment for a movement supposedly railing against capitalism and wealth, especially now that a radical group called the Alliance for Global Justice is legally sponsoring the protest. By lending its tax-exempt status -- for a 7 percent cut! -- the global-justice group allows donors to deduct their contributions from federal taxes and gives its own board control over the money.

The alliance, based in Washington, is a hotbed of far-left causes that range from backing hunger strikes in California prisons to denouncing the CIA and oil companies. Its Web site says the group sponsors operations in the Gaza Strip, with Hamas, and boasts of an alliance with Anarchists Against the Wall, which contests Israel’s security barrier in the West Bank.

The group suggests it has a relationship with Iran, supported the Sandinista revolution in Nicaragua and expresses solidarity with Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez against the United States.

So this alliance will have control over the money - what is it up to now $500,000? Several weeks ago I started a thread: OWS - Who is Amin Husain and what is his agenda?. Included in that thread was an email that I found on the internet, but it did not have a source. http://owsmail.dc406.com/OWSMailList_3173.html (broken link).

If there is any connection, and I believe there is, who are the OWS going to complain to when their money disappears?? Will they turn to the courts to seek justice for the money that will go missing? If the protesters thinks that the US screwed them, they are in for a surprise!!!!

We still have to find out exactly how dedicated these "protesters" are. But the time of discovery is not long in coming: it will soon be wintertime here in New York City.
