Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) Information

That's the link to the COLA increase.

COLA is determined by wage increases in clerical workers (don't blame me -- I didn't write the law or the formula). If the wages of clerical workers (and other urban workers) rise, you get an increase. If they don't, you don't. If they decrease, fortunately no action is taken (meaning you don't take a cut).

I don't do Medicare, but my understanding is that the Medicare Part B insurance premiums will increase by about the same amount or slightly more so that many will either effectively get no increase or lose money.

Obama allowed the GOP to cut the payroll tax which hurt the revenue tremendously.

As I predicted. Right wingers who hate the program are now using that shortfall to bad mouth the program.

There was always going to be a short fall. That was what the "Trust Fund" was for. Thanks to Obama and the GOP it came sooner.

If you want your full social social security benefits when you are older stop voting for spineless Democrats like Obama and NEVER EVER vote GOP.

I remember them doing that. Made me as sick watching it now as it did back then.

Yep, that is just what has happened with Medicare and the money that they withhold from our SS check.

I keep hearing that Obama and the GOP but don't know how those two got together and cut anything in the first two years of Obama. He had a Democrat controlled Congress (both houses) during that time and even now the Senate is his party. How can you say things like you said here about the GOP? Could it be because you don't really know so much as you think you do?

Old padcrasher is one lost soul. Wonder who he's sleeping with tonight?? Probably in a tent "tentcrashing". Maybe he'll change his moniker tomorrow?

Obama proposed cutting the payroll tax, not Republicans.

Twice.

Of course you don't know that cutting SS taxes was part of the negotiations with the GOP raise the debt cap. You don't pay attention.

There isn't a GOP candidate out there now that doesn't propose cutting and/or privatizing/cutting the Social Security program.

The GOP hates the program because it is successful.

The only faction in Congress that opposes cutting the program are liberal Democrats.

Are right wing lemmings too stupid to vote in their own family's best interest? ....They sure are.
