You presume to know me, and you are sadly mistaken. Your question is based on a faulty premise so therefore can't be answered. I have everything that I need and don't desire anything that anyone else has that they don't willingly give me for the services that I provide. I don't desire the rich man's wealth. I have no desire to go to Hell in his place.

The best thing that he could do is give it to the truly less fortunate, which is not me. You make the assumption that I want their money. I do not.

Certainly you don't think being wealthy is the only thing that will keep you from heaven. You may want to reread some of these posts.

I rarely post on CD anymore because the hatefilled rehtoric is actually getting frightening. People are actually condoning killing people. It's sick.

I wonder whose brain they are sharing.

Okay, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on this that you don't hate or covet the wealthy. I'll keep my opinions as to why you started a thread such as this to myself.

So you don't agree with wealth redistribution then. Great, I'm glad that's settled! Because if you agree with wealth redistribution, then you're admitting that you want something that belongs to someone else, that someone else has earned.

I said I don't want anyone else's wealth. I did not say that other less fortunate should not have it, which is not me. You don't see the difference?

Actually, I am neither jealous or hate the rich. I feel sorry for them. I have known a billionaire, and although it is only anecdotal evidence, he was a very unhappy man. He was also an atheist.

So you agree with stealing other peoples' property? Good to know. I think that's another of the 10 Commandments that you're in favor of violating.

And nobody said money buys happiness.

I never said I was in favor of theft or coveting. Where did you get that idea?

Well I don't condone Killing. I just quoted the bible and I get personal attacks. Instead of debating the topic.

New Testament says if you are rich you are probably going to Hell. The fact is that if you are rich you have probably violated many other commandments either to get there or to stay there.

It does not say that if you are poor that you are going to heaven.

The widely accepted interpretation of the verse you quoted is that you shouldn't love or idolize riches. They should not take the place of God. There is a big difference between that and saying that if you're rich you're going to hell.

In the event your quote wasn't just an attempt to use literal wording in order to push an agenda you might find the commentaries here instructive; Matthew 19:24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

Some people can rationalize what it means. I think its meaning is fairly clear.

Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God

What is there to interpret.

From your own cite.

It it is difficult to obtain wealth without sin, without avarice, without covetousness, fraud, and oppression, 1 Timothy 6:9-10, 1 Timothy 6:17; James 5:1-5; Luke 12:16-21; Luke 16:19-31.
