Buying "Made in USA" also lends support to corrupt unions who support politicians that propose laws I disagree with.

Starving the beast begins with starving their supporters.

oh come on. even if you disagree with the unions and politicians, are you saying you'd rather "lend support" to corrupt factory owners overseas that pay their workers close to nothing and give them basically no rights?

One can get carried away with this, but that's your choice.

Buyers base their choices on a variety of things including the race of the people in the company (there is a "buy from black owned companies" web site), where it's made and even the products that claim to be "green" or organic or from companies that support their pet social projects.

But when it comes to paying double for the same product, most people will go the cheaper route.

Why do you assume that overseas factory owners are corrupt and underpay their workers? That is an uneducated generalization.

In fact, Mercedes, Ferrari, BMW and lot's of other overseas factory workers would find your comment amusing.

Several years ago, while out shopping with a friend, we made a point of trying to find merchandise which wasn't manufactured in China. It's not easy.
