TP about cutting spending-LOL! Their antics at debt ceiling time cost us billions. Now our credit rating was dropping w/o them, BUT by not compromosing at debt celing time, and delaying the inevitable deal, our rating dropped faster (the agency did admit there was a connection b/w discord and rating). Dropping it faster raised interest rates faster, and anyone with credit knows sped up higher rates = more expense.

The fact that Obama has chosen to side with them will doom his re-election chances; whatever chance he had to reclaim the support of the indepedents who bailed on him en masse last November can best described as DOA, or toast, or history, or stick-a-fork-in-him-he's done or somewhere between slim & none, or......

The TP principles, smaller government, less taxes, cut spending, reduce debt are what the majority of Americans are FOR.

Again, he had votes to spare, IN BLUE states, where it didn't matter.

About 1,000,000 votes determined his win or loss, in swing states.

Don't believe me? Look here.

President - Election Center 2008 - Elections & Politics from CNN.com

Even with all the enthusiasm in 2008, he only won 53% of the vote.
Did you notice the electoral votes?
