Who thinks this Ban is bad. We need money we could tax it make it legal.

Surely right and left that like to play poker can agree on this one issue

Gambling is nearly as addictive as alcohol so banning it is just as futile. I suggest a 5% federal tax to pay for the damage done to the families of these addicts.

But government run lotteries are okay, because the state, like a mob family, hates competition.
Hypocrisy anyone?

lol@ the sheeple who think it should be taxed to give the government even more juice.

Probably wont happen as most of the online gambling sites are coming from Indian reservations which seem to be impervious to rules concerning gambling, casinos and the selling of cheap cigarettes.

The timing of the ban is what surprised me. Ombama is a liberal dem so I was caught off guard when the ban came down. Instituting an online poker ban is the type of thing I'd expect from a fundie republican in an effort to pander to Christian conservatives.

In the end, it makes no sense not to regulate and tax online poker. We are leaving billions in tax revenue on the table.

Also, the arguement that online poker hurts casinos does not hold water. More than likely, had I not started playing online I probably never would have played poker in a casino. Poker rooms across the world got a huge lift after the public heard the stories of online amateurs like Chris Moneymaker and Joe Hatchem.

You make the false assumption that "we the people" are responsible for the damage done to the families.

1) This has been a long time coming. I know of more than one guy that moved overseas a few years ago because of the grumbling about this happening.

2) It has nothing to do with whom the current president is. They clamped down a while back, the sites skirted the rules and then the feds took 2 years or so to gather info and drop the anvil.

3) I agree with the taxation aspect and that it should be allowed. I used to play years ago with pokerstars and some in person but got bored with it.
