"Hotter, drier, longer forest fires we are witnessing today have nothing to do with dangerous manmade climate change. They have a lot to do with idiotic forest mismanagement policies and practices."

Stupid, trying to save the trees so now they all burn down, how did that work?

They actually have more to do with crazy people starting fires. None of these fires started by themselves regardless of how hot and dry it is and regardless of how the land is managed.
Trees and dry shrub don't spontaneously combust. People set them on fire, usually on purpose.

And with proper management, it wouldn’t go as far as it does.

Demented arsonists, dry summers. California is very vulnerable.

Proper management is logging or let it burn, fire is part of the natural cycle of any forest. Before the intervention of man which goes back more than century forests had frequent fires. This clears out the accumulated fuel on the ground keeping the forest healthy, they are less intense preventing long term damage. Many species of trees are resistant to fire and at least one species I'm aware of requires fire for regeneration.

Man has broken that natural cycle. Forest fires of today are much larger and hotter because of all the fuel leaving a sterile landscape in their wake.

These areas should be regularly cleared out and the foliage collected should be burned in incinerators to generate electricity.

Really?

That would say otherwise. Why would you need to lie about such a silly thing?

As recent as 2017

In 2017, the campaign launched new socially-optimized videos and artwork inspired by beloved Smokey Bear posters to continue to raise awareness of lesser known wildfire starts. The new artwork was created by Brian Edward Miller, Evan Hecox, Janna Mattia, and Victoria Ying, portraying Smokey Bear in each of their unique styles

There was an interview on NPR today, with a scientist whose field of expertise is forestry and the resulting fires that occur in those forests. He said that fires have existed from the moment that plant life first appeared millions of years ago. It is a natural phenomena , and is actually good for the planet. He cited a time when we allowed forests to overgrow, and that created a perfect environment for future, even worse fires to happen.

What has complicated this situation is that we want to build our homes and cities right in the middle of areas that are going to catch fire due to oxygen, plant life, and events like lightning and human causes. Then we wonder why this happened.
