This subtitle authorizes $15 billion in investments to put construction workers on the job rehabilitating and refurbishing hundreds of thousands of vacant and foreclosed homes and businesses. Building on proven approaches to stabilizing neighborhoods with high concentrations of foreclosures, Project Rebuild will bring in expertise and capital from the private sector, focus on commercial and residential property improvements, and expand innovative property solutions like land banks. The goals of this subtitle are to create jobs, as well as stabilize neighborhoods, reverse vacancy reduction, and increase or stabilize residential and commercial property values.

to bail out Freddie/Fannie in the rehabbing of homes that are "unmarketable" instead of leaving these to be auctioned "as is" and rehabbed through the private sector?

This is one of the stupidest posts ever. It shows a total lack of how our gov't works.

How do you expect the House to enact any legislation when it has control of only 1 of the 3 branches of gov't?

The repubs don't believe in the gov't creating jobs. It believes in creating an atmosphere, less red tape and regulations, etc., where the private sector can produce jobs.

The dems believe in just the opposite.

it wont create any private sector jobs...just more government jobs with its 'new' department

the establishment of ANOTHER GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT (bigger government)

SEC. 245. ESTABLISHMENT AND GENERAL AUTHORITY OF AIFA. (a) Establishment of AIFA- The American Infrastructure Financing Authority is established as a wholly owned Government corporation. (b) General Authority of AIFA- AIFA shall provide direct loans and loan guarantees to facilitate infrastructure projects that are both economically viable and of regional or national significance, and shall have such other authority, as provided in this Act.

page 40

in reading it it sounds like a fannie/freddie on steriods

and then there is

SECTION 284. ESTABLISHMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY BROADBAND CORPORATION.

and then this:

SEC. 261. PROJECT REBUILD (a) Direct Appropriations.— There is appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, $15,000,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2014, for assistance to eligible entities including States and units of general local government (as such terms are defined in section 102 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 (42U.S.C. 5302)), and qualified nonprofit organizations, businesses or consortia of eligible entities for the redevelopment of abandoned and foreclosed-upon properties and for the stabilization of affected neighborhoods.

its not a jobs bill...its an expand socialism bill

tell me ONE THING a dem has done to 'generate' private sector jobs
Here's one...............

• $180,935 - A better way to freeze rat DNA in Columbia, Mo.
For many years, scientists have found laboratory rats to be good test subjects for studying human disease. One problem, however, is that once you deep-freeze rat sperm, it apparently becomes less useful when unfrozen. Solution: study the freezing process for rat sperm. Calling it an “urgent need,” scientists at the University of Missouri received stimulus funds “to develop freezing protocols for epididymal rat sperm which would allow reconstitution of genetics by using standard artificial insemination and invitro fertilization methods.”
The scientists note that “[o]ver the last few years, our laboratory has generated ample amount of data related with optimal sperm handling.”

Got rat tugger's running around Mizzou on our taxdollars. Thanks dems!!

This is impossible.

Please postulate credible theories for us to consider.
The House passes the bill, the Senate kills it.

Pretty simple.

Please post transcripts of the Bills the Republican Tea Party has passed in the 112th Session of Congress to create jobs for the American people.

The Obama administration seems to be doing a great job creating jobs for non-citizens. He's just pushed through an amnesty program with 300,000 new work visas for foreigners coming here illegally and he's now expanded NAFTA and is about to give 150,000 Mexican truckers (just for starts) truck-driving jobs in the USA.

It's not the role of government to create jobs, but to lay down the conditions where job creation can take place. Why is this hard for liberals to understand?

That is because Democrats have been in control for far to long.. Maybe you need to change the way you look at things.

Government doesn't create jobs. It needs to get out of the way and allow the markets to do it.

Instead we have Progressives like Pelosi threatening that Boeing should shut down in SC because it isn't unionized. Yep, government in the case of the fired former Speaker of the House sure wants to destroy private sector jobs doesn't it?!
