The Federal Government wants states to sign up people. States are getting extra money from the Fed for more signups.
Why though is beyond me..the Fed pushing active recruitment for food stamp signups.
Get more people dependent on the government ?
But of course. The more people dependent upon central government, the more central government can grow, and grow, and grow. Before you know it collectivism has taken over.
In the midst of a economic meltdown that began in 2008, and insane policies of austerity, I am shocked absolutely shocked that more people are receiving social assistance!
Of course it begs the question, what would those people do if the let-the-lazy-bums-fend-for-themselves crowd had their way?!?

That may come sooner or later and not by choice.
How long can the government expand while taking in less revenue ?
Do we just keep raising the debt ceiling and print money because our Congress refuses to cut.
Yes, Obama has managed to increase the number of US residents using food stamps to an all time high of 15% of the US population. Let's hear a big round of applause for the foodstamp POTUS from all his supporters!
State university systems get their budgets slashed. Universities then try to get their money back by hiking up tuition, thus forcing students to spend more and take out huge student loans.
Knowing that they're saddled with higher costs, some students try to ease their current and future burden by going on food stamps.

Your right, and some peope will just fail to want to understand this. Keep those people dependent upon our central government. The more the better. He has been running this Country downhill ever since he has been in office. How long now! People are much worse off under Obama, when he promised us all HOPE N' CHANGE GARBAGE?
This can't possibly be the Change most of you Dems wanted, is it?

Round and round we go!
Government interference and control of the student loan programs is what has driven up tuition costs. Well, that and the tenure policies of most Universities.

Yep, and the older-skewing voting public wanting all their services while not paying higher taxes has nothing to do with it.
