I consider a jobs bill a reduced tax rate for major American businesses to repatriate international earnings back to the USA in return (contractual with significant penalties if violated) for bringing back their manufacturing to USA shores for "x" number of decades.
1. Construction jobs building manufacturing facilites here and all the associated support of goods required
2. Jobs in manufacturing, distribution and service industries to support same
3. Broadening of our exportation which in turn builds national wealth (tax base increased via jobs and exports)
Cutting government waste & fraud of which there are billions of dollars. Lowering taxes for all people and getting businesses to re-invest back in the country.
Obama has spent money to create green jobs, however, all attempts have failed.
Obama is trying to duplicate his failed 'shovel ready projects' at which he snickered in an interview. He admitted it was a failure.
Apparently only younger people with strong backs would be employed if indeed shovel ready project were created. Why only construction workers, whose ranks are populated by illegal aliens, are the focus of shovel ready projects?
The only shovel ready project Obama has created is him digging us deeper in debt. The government may be able to create some useless temporary jobs but not enough to cover the broad spectrum of industries that form the basis for our economy.
There seems to be arguments on this forum as to what constitutes a jobs bill. If you had to choose one, what would represent a jobs bill?
if i had to choose 1, it'd be infrastructure. Whether $4 trillion is an appropriate number, or not, would depend upon over how many years it was spread.
on the other hand, i have such little confidence in the U.S. Congress, that I'd rather them not spend any more money on stimulus. The quality of our past stimulus has been pathetic. They would probably give $4 trillion to the banks and then figure out a way to call that an "infrastructure bill."
That's a very good start but Obama has just expanded NAFTA and is bringing in many thousands foreign truck drivers to destroy that industry for Americans needing jobs.
Obama isn't going to do anything about the cheap labor his masters desire, he's also created a new work permit and stopped deportations.
