Chicago overturns ban on foie gras in restaurants

Dining on foie gras — a delicacy made of duck and goose liver — will soon be legal again in Chicago.

The City Council on Wednesday repealed its two-year-old ban on the gourmet dish, drawing dissent from animal rights activists who consider foie gras cruel because the birds are force-fed to make their livers bigger.

But there were no worries in chef Didier Durand's restaurant, Cyrano's Bistrot.

Here, here!

Let's return to beef. Lift up your swords and fight for a hamburger!

Geeze, this is starting to turn pathetic.

Actually, many, if not most, of those who enjoy Foie Gras are well conditioned, active adults

Have you ever had Foie Gras?

Any statistical evidence to support your claim? Thought not.

The small European country my aunt lives in produces approximately 6 times the amount the entire United States does (1.9K tons vs. 340 tons). My mom often have it while we visit her. I've had it once and it's horrible.

My "claim" was a joke. You seemed pretty serious and defensive with your rebuttal. Also, intelligent debate usually doesn't involve a request to cite followed up with no evidence and a similar counterrequest. If you wanted to challenge my assertion, maybe you should've kindly asked for a cite first?

Oh, it's an acquired taste to be sure - but, prepared properly, it is wonderful
